CONTEXT / A WIDER CREATIVE RESPONSIBILITY
Beyond the asset. Into the experience.
I joined Jobberman Nigeria as Design Lead in May 2025. The work spans a recruitment platform, its audiences and the events that bring people together.
It has pushed me to think beyond individual graphics: the idea, the audience, the space, the team, and how the work will actually be delivered.
Current role Design LeadTeam has included 4 designers + 1 videographerAcross the work 25+ events branded across multiple cities
01 / LAGOS CAREER FAIR
A familiar city. A way through the fair.
The fair brought together job seekers, employers, exhibitions, talks, learning and networking. I saw a way to organise that variety through a familiar Lagos idea: Mainland and Island.
I developed the core creative direction. The Island held the main programme and job seeker experience; the Mainland held the exhibition and employer side. A Danfo-inspired entrance, signage and environmental graphics carried the idea into the venue.

02 / PARTNERS’ CONVENING — THE STORY ROOM
A story people could walk through.
The convening brought together organisations involved in Jobberman’s partnership work, including the Mastercard Foundation partnership. There were years of progress to communicate.
I proposed a Story Room: a physical journey through milestones, stories, numbers and key moments. Information wrapped around the space, letting visitors move through the partnership’s development over time.
My contribution was the concept and creative direction. Turning it into a room involved design, content and production working together.

AN UNEXPECTED OUTCOME
Then the story started making more stories.
Partners began using the room as a setting for interviews and video conversations. It was telling existing stories and making space for new ones.
That stayed with me: the way people use a space can become part of the idea.
03 / WHAT LEADERSHIP IS TEACHING ME
Give people room to own the work.
Leadership is not always about doing more. Sometimes it is about creating the conditions for people to take more ownership.
That means direct conversations, useful feedback, clear expectations and support over time. Progress rarely happens all at once.
A period away from work reinforced this for me. Responsibility sat with the senior designer, who handled the work well. The positive feedback from management belonged to his work.
The lesson I took from it was simple: give people enough responsibility to grow into, and enough support to carry it.
THE IDEA HAS TO WORK IN REAL LIFE
How should it look? How will it work?
Communications and other internal teams do not always arrive with a finished creative brief. Sometimes they arrive with a need. Part of my role is helping turn that need into a workable idea.
I work across creative and copy direction, design quality, vendors and production, weighing budgets, equipment, team capacity and the experience of people attending.
Current planning has included livestream architecture, multiple Zoom rooms, upload requirements and portable connectivity. These are questions I am working through, alongside the visual direction.
